It appears from this post that you believe God and the World are dialectical choices from which a person must choose one or the either.

Could it also be part of the rich Christian tradition to believe that the world is not in opposition to God, but that the world is the “garment in which God dresses himself?” (a quote from the Desert Fathers)

In other words, as suggested by Romans, could not the world be a means through which God reveals God-self? Moreover, if we are to acknowledge natural revelation, and thus natural theology, can we continually sustain the dialectical opposition between God and the World?

You seem to assume, however, that Obadiah’s message came after the Babylonian assault on Jerusalem. Why couldn’t the message have come before? Are prophets not give the privilege of predicting the future?
